The medium voltage switchgear factory in Skien Norway develops and produces ring main units (RMU), compact switchgear (CSG) used in electrical distribution network (12-36kV).

ABB Electrification is looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager to join our dedicated team focused on product development and sustainability. In this pivotal role, you will lead international, cross-functional projects that shape the future of our medium-voltage switchgear portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead international, cross-functional product development projects for medium-voltage switchgear.
• Define project scope, deliverables, budget, resources, timeline, and detailed work allocation in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Ensure successful project execution across all phases-including design, prototyping, and testing-while maintaining strict control over project timeline and costs.
• Oversee all aspects of the project, from strategic planning to hands-on execution, together with your project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• Proven experience as a project manager, ideally within R&D or large-scale development projects.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project or similar.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian; additional languages are a plus.
• Comfortable collaborating globally with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
