Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated FLIGHT DECK Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to driving lean transformation and embedding the FLIGHT DECK operating model across our organization. The ideal candidate will have production experience, exposure to lean practices, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for coaching and training others.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • FLIGHT DECK Transformation: Drive implementation of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) improvements.
  • Lean Practices: Apply lean principles, including Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Value Stream Management, and Problem Solving, to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Coaching & Training: Provide hands-on coaching and training to employees and leaders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and respect for people.
  • Problem Solving: Facilitate structured problem-solving sessions using the FLIGHT DECK framework to address process-related challenges and deliver robust solutions.
  • Leadership Development: Act as a mentor to build lean capabilities within teams, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace's Behaviors-Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Driven.
  • Operational Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute kaizen events, develop action plans, and sustain improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement, implement countermeasures, and track progress to ensure sustainable results.


Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree accredited college or university AND a minimum 3 years of manufacturing operations experience, with exposure to lean practices and methodologies.
  • OR a high school diploma / GED AND a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing operations experience, with exposure to lean practices and methodologies.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues.
  • Coaching: Demonstrated experience in coaching and training individuals and teams to drive change.


Desired Experience and Characteristics:
  • Passion for driving continuous improvement
  • Direct shop floor operations experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean Tools and Facilitation: 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, SMED, Heijunka, 3P
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
