JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is recruiting for a skilled and motivated Welder/Boilermaker to join our Projects team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane, Australia - on a casual basis with the potential to a full-time basis.

Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for the role.

The Role

Location: Lytton Refinery, site based

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fabrication and welding of mechanical apparatus and pipelines
• Conduct maintenance, repair and modification on existing welding equipment, mechanical machines and infrastructure across site
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications according to site requirements and standards
• Be proactive in looking for ways to improve the reliability of equipment and reduce downtime
• Able to work closely with site engineers, project team and other trades always ensuring safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Australian recognised Welding & Fitter Qualification/s,
• Boilermaker Trade Certificate,
• Driver's License
• Experience in process piping to ASME B31.3
• Understand P.ID and isometric Drawings,
• Working at heights
• Confined space
• Great communication skills (written and verbal)
• Exposure to working with Work Area Permit Systems
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).

The successful candidate will undergo medical and background checks, and will be required to provide certificates, tickets before undergoing medical.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to do and pass a 2" GTAW 6G, 6" MMAW/ GTAW 6G weld test to AS3992.
