Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 5 Instrument Technician to join the Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD) team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires experienced, goal achiever and team leader who has flexibility to work across Northern Health campuses

This role is responsible for ensuring that CSSD provides services to their consumers continuously and without delay by following standard processes.

This role is responsible for:
  • Experience of 4 years (Fulltime equivalent) & above in reprocessing of reusable medical devices as Grade 5 Instrument Technician and good working knowledge of AS5369:2023 & NSQHS Standard
  • Experience of 4 years (Fulltime equivalent) & above in reprocessing of reusable medical devices as Grade 4 Instrument Technician with Shift In-Charge/Floor Coordination experience and good working knowledge of AS5369:2023 & NSQHS Standard
  • Proven ability to prioritized workload & needs of consumers in a busy CSSD
  • Demonstrated knowledge in reprocessing endoscopes, loan sets processes & setting up Theatre List cases
  • Well-developed organizational, problem solving and communication skills
