About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic ESS Regional Project Manager - Italy (Milan) to lead our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business in Sungrow Europe. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring ESS projects are delivered successfully and high-level customer engagement with team leadership and is central to our expansion in a high-priority growth market. They combine organizational skills, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive results.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Project Planning
• Define BESS project scope (S,A,B level), goals, and deliverables different stages:
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines (Gantt charts, schedules), and budgets.
• Identify risks and create mitigation strategies.
2. Team Coordination & Leadership
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
• Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams (commercial, service, product solution, contract &l egal, finance etc.).
• Motivate and guide the team to meet deadlines.
3. Stakeholder Communication
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, executives, and team members.
• Provide regular progress updates (status reports, meetings).
• Organize regular meeting with key stakeholders and report to internal and external parties.
• Manage expectations and negotiate changes when necessary.
4. Project payment & Resource Management
• Track project payment milestone and ensure adherence to the program & deadline.
• Allocate resources efficiently (manpower, tools, materials).
5. Risk & Issue Management
• Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
• Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that hinder progress.
6. Quality Assurance & Delivery
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Conduct post-project reviews (lessons learned, performance analysis).
Your profile
• 2-3+ years in project management leadership within energy storage, renewables, or technical infrastructure sectors
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset
• Proven experience managing teams and developing customers' relationship.
• Skilled in solution-based project management, with strong contract negotiation ability
• Fluency in English and Italian (minimum B2 level)
• Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time
Project Manager Certifications:
• PMP (Project Management Professional) - PMI
• PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments)
• CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) - Entry-level
