Terex is currently seeking a motivated individual to manage the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) at Coalville and will support all HSE requirements on site. The HSE Manager will work closely with the operational management team to develop line management capability and the implementation of good people management practices through advising on complex operational matters, coaching and mentoring. This will be a very high demanding position and will suit a person who has a passion to make a difference in highly successful, dynamic global company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, coach and develop the HSE Committee and Union HSE reps
- Lead the sites HSE policy development, strategic planning, Zero Harm and HSE Roadmap development, address any compliance issues and keep updated with current legislation.
- Provide HSE advice specific to the business, acting as a technical expert and internal consultant; direct, lead and coach site leadership on HSE best practice to ensure Managers are focused on delivering a safe working environment. Coach leaders on LSOP programme.
- Lead HSE compliance requirements across the site with leaders/managers.
- Develop, initiate and coordinate short, medium and long-term activities and innovative preventative strategies and program for sustained HSE Performance and continually enhance the safety culture.
- Support managers to secure meaningful employee involvement in HSE.
- Actively lead implementation of legal, insurance and Corporate standards.
- Managing reporting and investigation procedures for accidents/incidents and EL/PL Clams.
- Support and implement robust risk management systems.
- Lead environmental controls, waste management systems, carbon and energy reduction projects.
- Set, monitor and report on KPI's, report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually on progress (Report Card, MPX, Origami)
- Manage and co-ordinate Occupational Health (with 3rd party provider) and return to work programmes.
- Collaborate with HR on health and well-being programmes.
- Work together with site leadership on budget and finance planning as per site strategy.
- Leading and implementing in-house (and external) HSE training with Managers and trainers. Develop and deliver training as required.
- Management of internal HSE audits and external compliance audit programme, supporting 5S audits.
- Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures through verifications,
- Representing and promoting the organisation's HSE performance to third parties (e.g. clients, contractors, hauler, HSE, Council/EA, other stakeholders as necessary).
- Ensure up to date progammes and procedures for contractor management,
- Manage contracts for HSE; laundry service, others (as required)
The successful candidate must have:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety & Environmental Legislation.
- Significant HSE experience in manufacturing, engineering or high-risk environments
- Experience and knowledge of management systems or equivalent internal system; i.e. HSE (ISO14001, ISO45001) or Quality (ISO9001), Energy (ISO50001).
- Membership of IOSH (CPD).
The below would also be desirable though not essential:
- Chartered level of IOSH or working towards this level
- NEBOSH HSE Diploma or equivalent
- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental management
- NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
- Train the Trainer Certification
- Experience of implementation, development or auditing of management systems; OHSAS 18001/ISO45001, ISO50001, ISO14001, ISO9001
- NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Well being at work
- Experience of coaching and mentoring
- ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management or equivalent
