Legal Data & Project Manager - Lead (1 FTE)

About the role:

As a Legal Data & Project Manager - Lead, you will play a pivotal role in embedding advanced data and project management capabilities across our legal practice. You will help the firm deliver complex matters in a more insight-driven, technology-enabled, and future-ready way. This role sits at the intersection of legal delivery, data, and innovation: ensuring data is not just used in isolated projects, but systematically integrated into how we work. You will manage our Legal Project Management team, and work closely with our Legal Tech & AI Lead to successfully implement innovative solutions in complex matters across the firm. You will report to the Chief Legal Operations Officer and advise on strategic topics.

Key responsibilities:

• Innovative project management
  • Serve as a trusted partner/adviser to senior stakeholders, clients, and legal teams, helping to solve complex legal and project management challenges.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and local counsel during the project lifecycle, ensuring that client needs are fully understood and addressed.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local counsel, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Partner closely with the firm's Legal Tech & AI Lead to ensure that innovation initiatives are fully embedded within legal matters and project delivery
  • Act as a connector between legal teams, the Legal Tech & AI team, and Business Professional functions to spot opportunities to embed digital solutions into workflows and ensure tools are used effectively and sustainably

• • Spot opportunities in the emerging legal tech market for legal project management and contribute to shaping the firm's innovation agenda together with the firm's Legal Tech & AI Lead.
• Data enablement and governance in matters
  • Build and implement data workflows that equip legal teams with timely and relevant insights for better decision making
  • Work closely together with our data governance team to apply and evolve data governance standards to ensure data used in legal work is accurate, secure and reusable.
  • Develop playbooks, templates and repeatable models for how data is applied across matter types and department
  • Provide reliable guidance to clients and teams regarding data handling in legal projects, maintaining high standards of data accuracy and reliability.
• Team management & mentorship
  • Lead the Legal Project Management team and contribute to the team members' development and growth
  • Mentor the team to improve data, delivery and strategic advisory services within matters
  • Actively guide and coach team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Who are you?

The right candidate:

• 8+ years of experience in legal project management, professional services transformation, or a similar strategic delivery role.
• You have a service-oriented mindset, get-the-job-done mentality; you are assertive and proactive, comfortable sharing advice, ideas, or concerns;
• You are tech-savvy and comfortable working with project management tools, data solutions and have experience implementing data governance frameworks;
• You have a Legal, IT, or Business degree;
• You have excellent communication skills, both client-facing and within the firm, and you can influence and engage senior stakeholders
• You have experience working independently, and project managing a multi-disciplinary team through complex projects, delivering results under tight timelines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior internal stakeholders and clients with credibility and clarity
• You have experience working in a high-paced professional environment;
• You have a good command of English. Dutch is also an advantage.

• Drive the firm-wide adoption of innovative legal project management methodologies and tools, enabling teams to work more efficiently, transparently, and collaboratively across practices and jurisdictions
• Establish and operationalise data governance frameworks that ensure legal project data is reliable, compliant, and supports decision-making at all levels
• Strengthen the firm's reputation as a pioneer in legal innovation, equipping clients with forward-thinking, tech-enabled solutions to their most critical legal challenges
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, empowering lawyers and business professionals to embrace change and integrate data and technology into their way of working
