Job Description
CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Corrosion & Coating Engineer. The Job holder will:
- Be in charge of all activities associated to Corrosion and Coating disciplines. He/she is also responsible for PFP, Insulation and GRE qualification and application.
- Ensures Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors’ deliverables and documents are timely issued and compliant with technical and contractual requirements.
- Participates in the follow-up and supervision of qualification, audits, testing, fabrication and construction activities, at Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors workshops or worksites, for his/her disciplines, directly and with the support of the construction and QAQC team.
- Be the focal point for all matters related to his/her disciplines. The service holder liaises with Company HQ discipline specialists as necessary.
- Be in charge of the cathodic protection system design and painting coating systems selection and application.

Type of Contract: 24 months
Key duties will include:
- The service holder shall have knowledge of all the International Norms and Standards, Company General Specifications and Project technical referentials related to his/her area of responsibility, taking knowledge from them for application to the Project, and to develop, as required, discipline specific instructions.
- The service holder shall supervise and coordinate the Material, Corrosion, and coating engineering activities of EPC Contractors
- The service holder participates in the review of Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors documentation related to his/her discipline, in particular the design and engineering documentation, qualification, manufacturing, inspection and test procedures, quality control plan, manufacturing and quality records, and when relevant, training program and training records, ensuring their compliance with the contractual and technical requirements.
- The service holder review and prepare answer to Technical Query and Deviation Request related to his/her discipline.
- The service holder reports to the Engineering Lead and Quality Lead any nonconformities identified in the performance of Contractors activities. He/she ensures the tracking of anomalies and non conformities for his/her relevant discipline and scope of work, and ensure follow-up of correcting activities with the Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors.
- The service holder participate to daily, regular, planned or ad-hoc meetings related to his/her discipline with Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors (including PPM/PIM as necessary).
- The service holder participates as auditor/observer/witness, as relevant, in audits performed by the Project or Contractor for his/her discipline.
- The service holder provides technical support and assistance to team members with regards to his domain of competence, if needed, and enforce directions/decisions taken at Package Management level within his/her perimeter. He/she also liaise with the other discipline for his/her package to ensure consistency of the work.
- When necessary, the service holder shall liaise with Company headquarters Technical department for technical matters, including the drafting of Derogation when relevant.
- The service holder participates to project reviews (HAZOP, HAZID,…) as requested.
- With the support of the worksites Construction and QAQC team, the service holder monitors and controls the correct implementation of the approved procedures, surveillance plan, Inspection and Test Plan, training program. As such, the service provider shall:
- Participates and monitor inspections as per approved Surveillance Plan and Inspection and Test Plan for his/her discipline and scope of work.
- Ensure that proper shops and equipment, for manufacturing and inspection activities, are available, and in operation, to execute the project scope of work according safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure work and inspection are performed as per project approved procedures and by operators with correct
- certification/qualification.
- Ensure the works is closely and adequately inspected by CONTRACTOR and SUBCONTRACTORS’ Surveillance or QC team.
- Review and ensure that all material certificates and certification files are compliant, up to date, including SUBCONTRACTORS/VENDORS documentation.
- Monitor the work performance and deficiencies (e.g. repair rate) and ensure the implementation of necessary action plan.
- Follow-up of implementation of action plan / mitigation plan.
- Ensure the work is performed in adequacy with the agreed schedule.
- The service holder monitors and records the Contractor and Subcontractors progress related to his/her discipline activities and report any expected slippage on schedule.
- The service holder ensures confidentiality of all Project documentation relevant to his area of responsibility.
- The service holder adopts and demonstrates an exemplary behavior with regard to H3SE rules and regulations. He/she shall raise HSE anomalies/observations card when identified and participate to HSE specific audit if requested.
- The service holder shall participate in the REX effort by providing input for his/her discipline close-out report and Lessons Learnt.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years in Oil and Gas projects.
- 10 years of experience as Coating/Corrosion engineer in Oil and Gas project. Experience with corrosion mechanisms (CO2/H2S and H2S cracking) is required.
- Knowledge of International Codes and standards,
- Knowledge of Company General Specifications is a plus
- Corrosion modelling is required (knowledge of Company PRECORR software is a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field).
