Our hydrogeologists work at the forefront of managing the challenges of providing resilient and environmentally sustainable water supplies for the future while ensuring water habitats are protected from new infrastructure development. We are undertaking an increasing number and range of important and exciting projects that involve groundwater resource evaluation, development and management and environmental impact investigation for water companies, other major water users and regulators. Building on this success, we are growing our team and this growth could include you. You could help us deliver work across our extensive client portfolio and enhance our reputation for excellence.
As a hydrogeologist, you will have acquired a good knowledge of groundwater processes through a relevant postgraduate qualification and experience working in the industry. You will work closely with our technical specialists who are based in our established teams in Epsom, London, Oxford and Peterborough. We have a friendly and approachable team with a strong reputation for delivering excellence with multiple clients.

Your purpose:
- You will work with our hydrogeologist technical leads and other technical disciplines in helping to deliver our portfolio of groundwater projects.
- You will undertake work assigned to you to a high standard, self-checking to ensure accuracy and quality.
- You will be required to undertake complex problem solving that may include data gathering and processing, calculations and modelling, conceptualisation and report writing.
- Collaborative and supportive teamwork is vital to our success and you will work closely with the rest of the groundwater resources team.
- You will also work collaboratively with other technical disciplines in the Water Management Consultancy team and beyond, delivering a range of projects relating to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimisation and environmental assessment.
What you can bring:
- With a degree in science, engineering or mathematics and a post-graduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related subject, you will have demonstrable experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water company, regulator or academic fields.
- Your experience may include water resources hydrogeology and hydrology, signal and pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding or water resource planning.
- You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of UK hydrogeology and of the regulatory framework of UK water management.
- You are likely to be working towards chartership through a relevant professional body.
- You will have excellent numerical, analytical, report-writing and presentational skills and an eye for detail.
- You will be highly motivated and proactive and enjoy solving challenging water resources problems within a high achieving team environment.
- You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels to support collaborative working and the building of high quality colleague and client relationships.
- You will have a valid full UK driving licence.
