This Position reports to:
Strategic Industry and Portfolio Director

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager, Strategy within ABB's U.S. Electrification business, you will work directly with the Senior Director of Electrification Strategy to shape ABB's participation in the U.S. electrification market. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role focused on identifying growth opportunities, analyzing market dynamics, and leading strategic initiatives to support ABB's Electrification divisions.

You'll focus on high-growth sectors such as data centers, industrials, utilities, commercial buildings, and distributed energy, helping ABB respond to the increasing demand for resilient, efficient, and game-changing power infrastructure.

This is a hybrid position based out of Cary, NC.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in the United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Strategic planning & execution: Support the development and execution of strategic plans across ABB's Electrification portfolio in the U.S.
  • Market & Policy Intelligence: Analyze trends in electrification and related regulatory/policy developments. Lead external research on prioritized market areas to identify macrotrends, size, structure, profitability and channel that inform our strategy
  • Business Case Development: Build models and frameworks to evaluate new markets, partnerships, and investment opportunities. Support specific M&A due diligence projects when needed.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with product, sales, operations, and policy teams to align strategy planning with execution
  • Executive Engagement: Prepare presentations, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership and global stakeholders.
  • Innovation Scouting: Identify emerging technologies, digital solutions, and ecosystem partners that align with Electrification division strategic priorities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. electrification landscape - especially in sectors like data centers, commercial/industrial buildings, and grid infrastructure.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills - able to synthesize various sources of information to turn data into insight and insight into action.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience working in M&A and researching public and private companies
  • Experience working in or with industrial technology, energy, or infrastructure companies.
  • Familiarity with ABB's portfolio and digital solutions
  • Exposure to public-private partnerships, federal funding programs, or infrastructure policy.
