One of our clients, a major player in the Maritime Industry, is looking for a Transport Coordinator to manage global logistics operations from their Rotterdam office. This is a full-time role, and the candidates must already be living in the Netherlands with a valid work/residence permit or EU citizenship.

Function description
The Transport Coordinator plays a central role in managing the logistics process for global projects and vessels, coordinating transport by road, sea, and air. This includes handling import/export activities, preparing transport documentation, and arranging project cargo mobilization, sometimes involving (part-)chartering of vessels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating international shipments and ensuring proper documentation (e.g., ECCNs, HS codes, country of origin, product values).
- Monitoring and proactively tracking shipments.
- Validating shipping invoices.
- Negotiating rates with logistics providers, shipowners, and brokers.
- Collaborating closely with internal departments, vessel crews, and project teams worldwide.
- The role involves regular interaction with Ship Management and international project stakeholders.
Requirements
- A completed MBO-level education in logistics, shipping, or supply chain.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar logistics role, ideally within an international organization.
- Solid knowledge of shipping terms, transport documentation, and both conventional and non-conventional transport methods.
- Experience with (de)mobilizing out-of-gauge shipments and (part-)chartering breakbulk or semi-sub vessels.
- Familiarity with Dutch customs regulations.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written).
- A proactive, accurate, and team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to international project sites.
- Must be currently living in the Netherlands and hold a valid Dutch work/residence permit or EU citizenship.
