Construction Manager / Lead - Pipework

Main Duties:
• To support the installation activities of the HPC MEH Pipework scope on site through collaboration and coordination with site teams, through to handover to commissioning.
• This is a site delivery role, there is a necessity to work under the time pressure of the schedule to unblock technical issues to allow continuity of work by the installation teams.
• The Pipework Construction Manager is part of a wider of team of Leaders reporting to the Mechanical Lead supporting the delivery of the installation. Delivery of the upstream engineering sequence is outside the scope of the Construction Manager's role. However, they should ensure integration with the other areas of the team and other disciplines.
• The Construction Manager has counterparts across the other disciplines in MEH construction team, who perform equivalent roles for the other 4 disciplines of MEH.
• Support the Area and Building Leads, and Construction Engineers in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and works progression. Utilising the 16WLA, ensuring material deliveries are known and is documentation is in place.
• Accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH construction activities.
• Engage with the constructability using the building engineers as required to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximises efficiency.
• Manage project change within your discipline ensuring that the project change process is adhered to. This will include construction documentation as well as scope change aspects of the contract.
• Managing the technical issues relating to the installation of Pipework (construction activities), in particular:
• Writing of the documentation for erection activities. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.
• Supporting Technical Queries. Resolving the construction Open Points.
• Coordinate all the engineering activities to support construction sequence, and including the identification and implementation of improvements to processes and ways of working (e.g., redlining process on site).
• Ensure integration of the needs for activities post-construction (completion team) into the construction sequence (for instance: Commissioning Test Pack review and acceptance).

Requirements:
• Degree in relevant construction discipline or Pipework installation with extensive experience working in this type of role or 10 years' experience in a site construction management role
• CCNSG Safety Passport (Or MAPS)
• Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher
• Working knowledge of Pipework systems and installation
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations
• Proven experience or safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority. Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working with Joint Ventures.
• Professional accreditation desirable.
• Strong leader with collaborative nature
• A positive 'can do' mentality, self-motivated, setting the right behaviours.
• An ability to think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions, and a 'process driven' focus to delivery.
• Strong communication skill with their team and external stakeholders.
• Has worked at a level, providing accountability for their actions.
• Can demonstrate previous record of success in their discipline.
• Experience in the management and coordination of multi-discipline construction installation methodologies
• A clear communicator, with clarity and positivity.
