Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Mid-Level Contract and Risk Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously. This role requires a proactive approach to contract administration, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

The successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated professional with a strong sense of accountability, capable of thriving independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrification in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, respond to contract terms and conditions tenders and RFQs. Redlining and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors with the supervision of Senior Legal Counsel.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring compliance with Legal & Integrity and ABB policy requirements.
  • Manage the lifecycle of contracts from initiation to closure, including amendments, renewals, and terminations.
  • Work closely with internal sales and account teams, including legal, finance, and project management, to ensure alignment and effective contract execution.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in contract management practices and implement best practices.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract negotiations and management, preferably in the engineering or technology industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial terms.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract red-lining, Microsoft Office Suite and Xcel and AI tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications: Professional certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM) is a plus.
