JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our team as a Project Manager and be the primary contact for customers during contract execution. Ensure adherence to specifications, manage contracts to achieve forecast margins, develop production schedules, handle change requests, and collaborate with our Industrial Product Engineering team in Manchester and the manufacturing team. Your technical expertise and focus on delivery will drive the growth of a leading manufacturer of mixing equipment.

Acting under guidance, you will utilise your technical knowledge and professional experience to contribute to the manufacturing and delivery of our products to allow successful integration into our customers' working plant.

As a Project Manger, you will act as the sole point of contact for the customer during the execution of the contract including adherence to customer specifications, responsibility to manage the contract to achieve forecast margins, develop production schedules with the manufacturing team, manage change requests, liaise with the Industrial Product Engineering team based in Manchester and work closely with the manufacturing team throughout the project cycle. An appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision making, ability to work effectively with other team members with a keen focus on delivery are critical to your success in this role.

You will take ownership of projects undertaking all Project Management activities required for the purpose of project delivery and working with all internal contacts to ensure the customer requirements are met. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.

Responsibilities:



  • Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all are on track and meeting deadlines.
  • Status Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on the status of products, including cost, timing, and deliverables from both engineering and factory perspectives.
  • Project Team Organization: Organize project teams, assigning individual responsibilities and working directly with applications engineers, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, purchasing, and operations.
  • Quality and Specification Adherence: Ensure adherence to quality standards and contract specifications, conducting thorough reviews of technical documents to prevent any oversight.
  • Obstacle Identification and Resolution: Identify and resolve any obstacles to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Vendor Selection and Management: Collaborate with purchasing to select vendors, manage vendor timelines, and act as a liaison between vendors and the business.
  • Customer Contract Management: Work directly with customer contracts to provide order updates and facilitate the resolution of any technical questions that may arise throughout the project.
  • Customer Instructions Coordination: Coordinate, prepare, and manage customer instructions to ensure clear communication and understanding.
  • Documentation and Presentation Preparation: Prepare presentations, complete customer submittal documents, conduct customer surveys, and handle other administrative duties as required by the project.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager in a manufacturing industry preferred with a strong understanding of machining, welding, assembly and mechanical design processes.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Understanding of engineering documents, drawings and blueprints.
  • Communication: Confident and professional in interactions with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP are preferred.
  • Attributes: Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills; ability to influence project timelines without formal authority.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel, including visits to suppliers and customers.
