Job Description Summary
The GE Aerospace's Government Contracts Manager is a critical team member, and a trusted and proactive business partner to the product lines within the business. Contracts is the face of GE Aerospace to our US and foreign Government acquisition and airframer procurement customers. We are charged with cradle to grave contract management duties in all phases of a Program, from proposal strategy through the full development, production, and sustainment life cycle. The contracts team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price, and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope management. As an enabler to the business Contracts collaborates across multiple functions and is laser focused on achieving a business deal ensuring both GE Aerospace and the customers' expectations are met.
The Lead Contract Manager is an individual contributor that develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is generally defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to affect short term and some long-term business goals.
Directly supporting US Government contract activity (either on a Prime or subcontract), the position requires solid proficiency in managing various contract types, Firm Fixed Price Contracts and developing proficiency in the Cost Reimbursement Group and development contracts, as described in the Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface between GE Aerospace and U.S. Government customers on all contractual and business matters, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and internal policy.
- Lead negotiation strategy development and execution for complex government contracts, including terms and conditions, pricing and risk allocation.
- Provide expert contract administration and guidance throughout the contract lifecycle from proposal through closeout, ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
- Perform proposal, negotiation, and contract administration functions on assigned proposals / contracts with minimal supervision
- Advise senior leadership on contractual risks and obligations.
- Embraces FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, digital tools, and rigorous contracting practices to drive continuous improvement and employee and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to travel periodically
- Ability to execute independently with minimal oversight, suggest solutions to complex issues and apply analytical thinking.
Qualifications/requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 6 years progressive experience in contract negotiation and administration for U.S. Government programs, preferably within Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
- Solid domain expertise in Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and DoD FAR Supplement
