This Position reports to:
Trade & Transportation Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide customs and export control classification for ABB products, purchased third-party products, software, and raw materials. Each day, you will ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and guidelines. You will also showcase your expertise by conducting thorough research and analysis of ABB products to determine the appropriate product classification codes and standards.
The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid
You will interact with Trade Compliance Officers, Product Management, R&D, and other relevant functions on trade compliance-related matters, with integrity as a core pillar of our operations.
You will also lead initiatives for continuous improvement projects.

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:
- Providing classification of products, software, and/or technologies as part of new product introduction cycle.
- Managing and updating master data for products, technologies, and software, including product description, Harmonized Tariff Scheme (HTS) code, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN), etc., and/or supporting customs declarants with product information required for master data management and entries.
- Providing guidance and support to relevant teams regarding product classification-related inquiries or issues.
- Reviewing and applying relevant changes in the regulatory framework related to product classification.
- Leading initiatives to improve product classification processes and resolving identified gaps or issues.
Qualifications for the role
- You have good knowledge of customs and export control regulations.
- You have good skills in MS Office.
- You are passionate about self-accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- You are at ease communicating in English.
- Previous experience in trade compliance-related roles is preferred.
