Job Description Summary

The GE Aviation Additive Technical Program Leader - Electron Beam Manufacturing demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

The Additive Technical Program Leader - EBM will provide technical and program leadership for the progression of Electron Beam Manufacturing (EBM) producibility, technology and cost. In this role you will be responsible for leading additive continuous improvement and producibility initiatives driving towards optimized SQDC. They, with help cross-functional teams, will progress through the TRL & MRL process to enable the portfolio of NPI additive parts across the value stream. They will utilize, own and help improve the manufacturing standard work including development schedules, process risk identification and closure, MRL progression, value stream mapping, predicting and executing cost out initiatives, producibility, SPS, process capability and quality planning and strategy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive technical program plans for Electron Beam Manufacturing applications from development through high volume production
  • Lead MRL and TRL development and integration efforts related to EBM
  • Provide manufacturing consultation on any new work coming into the ATC including initial development schedules, resource needs and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisions
  • Utilize standard work for development schedule creation of NPI parts selected for execution to ensure manufacturing readiness is achieved to prediction
  • Drive a Lean culture, enabling Flight Deck, by leading structured problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives related to design/manufacturing practices, process capability, and the producibility process
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional team meetings including design engineering, quality, materials and manufacturing with a goal of defining requirements and standards for additive manufacturing
  • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary
  • Lead customer meetings with an on-time delivery focus and detailed knowledge of the part portfolio. Communicate key technical and business information between organizations and divisions
  • Manage process risk for hardware including working with peers and the IPT.
  • Provide an open environment for collaboration with design engineering to execute key changes in the development process
  • Develop technical solutions and partner with other IPT technical leadership to implement and transition products to our production facilities


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of A dditive and Program Management experience)
  • At least 5 additional years' experience working with Additive Technology and working in an Engineering position
