In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead a global engineering team (2-4 people) of Firmware Engineers located in different Emerson sites
- Provide leadership in technical reviews and issue resolution for the team.
- Design, implement, and improve firmware, embedded solutions for industrial actuators.
- Analysing and optimizing firmware performance.
- Drive code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability for self and others in the team.
- Fixing and performing Root Cause Analysis of the issues.
- Consistency to standard processes for code development, reuse, and portability.
- Maintain documentation, bug tracking, and records related to software development.
- Lead the product backlog, define product requirements and User Stories and facilitate sprint planning, supervise the sprint progress & lead the partners.
- Lead firmware development projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with other team members to meet project deadlines

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent job experience
- 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware design, development and troubleshooting
- 2+ years coordinating small teams
- Fluency in Italian
- Good knowledge of English language
- Experience working in 16/32-bit Microcontrollers/Microprocessors.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams.
- Willingness to travel on short assignments
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electronics engineering, Electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Low level firmware development for peripherals like Ethernet/USB/I2C/SPI/UART/Display etc.
- Experience with implementing industrial protocols such as HART, Modbus, Profibus, etc
- Problem solving techniques using six sigma methodologies
- Experience developing firmware based on RTOS.
- Experience with firmware development tools and IDEs (e.g., Keil, IAR Embedded Workbench)
- Communication Protocols -Bluetooth, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP will be advantageous.
- Agile software delivery using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
- Prior experience in the industrial automation or control systems industry.
- Working experience in developing products with Cybersecurity as per IEC62443
