JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood has an upcoming requirement for a Core Hydraulic Technician to join the Shell OneGas Kroonborg W2W team.

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Offshore Hydraulic Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) and associated hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical hydraulic equipment supporting offshore operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HPUs, including pumps, motors, accumulators, valves, hoses, filters, and control systems.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Carry out fluid sampling, analysis, and replacement as per maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform urgent hydraulic repairs to restore system functionality and minimise downtime.
  • Install, route, and secure hydraulic tubing and hoses in accordance with system schematics and offshore standards.
  • Conduct pressure testing and flushing of hydraulic lines to ensure system integrity and cleanliness.
  • Conduct small bore tubing (SBT) inspections and reports.
  • Support commissioning and decommissioning of hydraulic equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams and support where required as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.


QUALIFICATIONS

Previous Experience in a similar role in required
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Hydraulic Systems.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in offshore hydraulic maintenance, preferably with HPU systems.
  • Valid offshore certifications: BOSIET, MIST, OGUK Medical.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic schematics, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP) for work order management.
  • Strong understanding of fluid cleanliness standards and contamination control.
