Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and strategy for the organization. This role ensures adherence to tax laws and international tax standards, while optimizing the company's tax position and mitigating risks involving Indonesia , Malaysia, Brunei and Philippines.

Responsibilities
- Implement efficient, integrated tax strategies, policies, and work plans in accordance with Weatherford policy.
- Manage tax compliance including both direct and indirect taxes such as CIT, VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations.
- Liaise with the tax authorities and external advisors during tax audits and provide documentation required for the tax audits/inquiries
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize tax expenses and minimize liabilities
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
- Provide tax advisory support for cross-functional business decisions, including transfer pricing and international transactions
- Collaborate with tax and finance colleagues to ensure tax issues and initiatives are accurately reflected in financial statements.
- Supervise, monitor and review the output from the Weatherford Service Centre (WSC) tax team based in Bangalore.
- Coordinate and plan work between Weatherford and the WSC tax team.
- Review income tax account balances and related schedules.
- Prepare or review schedules and memos requested by external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Draft tax disclosures for group and statutory audits.
- Review internal reporting schedules and analyses.
- Ensure compliance with Weatherford SOX 404 internal tax controls and procedures.
- Manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Handle special projects as required.
- Maintain effective communication with all key internal and, where appropriate, external stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to direct reports.
Qualifications
Must Have
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTA).
- Minimum 8-10 years of Indonesia tax experience, including filing tax returns and interacting with the Indonesia tax authorities.
- Accounting experience equivalent to a CPA in Indonesia.
- Experience working with external auditors, ideally with Big Four firms.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, corporate taxation, and statutory accounts.
- Experience with income tax compliance, provision calculations, and reconciliations between US GAAP, IFRS, and tax returns.
Nice to Have
- Oil & gas industry experience.
- International tax experience.
- Experience in tax strategy implementation and tax planning support.
