Your role and responsibilities

Are you ready to take on a dynamic and impactful role where your expertise in contracts can truly make a difference? Our project pipeline has never been more active, with exciting opportunities in energy transition, Power-to-X, and the pharmaceutical sector. We are therefore looking for a Contract Manager to join our Northern European Hub Contract Management team. You will support our sales and project execution teams within our Energy Business Unit in Denmark, and you will be based in Ballerup.

You will serve as the link between Sales and Operations, ensuring that contract management remains a key priority. If you are motivated by finding solutions at the intersection of legal and commercial matters, this is the role for you!

As a Contract Manager at ABB, you will be part of an international team of contract managers collaborating across various functions, both nationally and internationally. During project execution, your role will be highly operational, providing proactive advice and support to maintain ABB's contractual position, including managing extensions of time, variation orders, and contract amendments. During the sales phase, you will work closely with sales teams during the tendering process, reviewing and commenting on contracts to ensure they are solid and executable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring that ABB's contract and claim management practices (Contract Management Framework) are followed.
• Drafting, reviewing, and commenting on tender terms and conditions, including relevant schedules, annexes, and project-related documentation.
• Supporting contract negotiations in line with ABB's Contract Management Policy.
• Collaborating closely with sales, project management, engineering, and procurement to ensure that relevant (sub)contracts contain appropriate terms to protect ABB's interests, including the flow-down of main contract terms where necessary.
• Analyzing contract terms to identify risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Enforcing and defending ABB's contractual interests against customers and suppliers, including monitoring and assessing changes and deviations, and managing claims.
• Developing contract strategies aligned with ABB policies and customer requirements, in close collaboration with ABB's Legal and Integrity functions, including dispute resolution and compliance matters.
• Providing internal guidance and training on contract management processes, incorporating lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in contract management within technical or project-based organizations.
• Relevant higher education in Law, Business, Finance, Engineering, or Project Management.
• Relevant experience in strategic procurement, sales, and/or project management.
• Strong interest and experience in project contract management, with the ability to interpret and navigate complex contract terms and project-based contracts (e.g., FIDIC or similar).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative mindset that enables effective cross-functional and cross-cultural teamwork.
• Structured and proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.

You will have a fixed base in our office in Ballerup , where your close colleagues are also based. We also offer the possibility of working from home a few days a week.

The position reports to HUB NEU Contract Manager Henrik B. Raa, based in Norway. Day-to-day tasks and coordination within the Danish organization will be overseen by Head of Operations, Kian Soleiman .
