Senior Designer

The Opportunity

Join our growing team as a Senior Designer and play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality engineering solutions. Working closely with the Chief Drafter and a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to the design and documentation of structural and civil projects across a range of industries. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical skills, collaborate with experienced professionals, and make a tangible impact on major infrastructure outcomes.

• Works under the instruction of the chief drafter to undertake design and drafting as required , contributing to Structural engineering projects.

• Under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.

• With little or no supervision undertakes the relevant tasks to complete concept and detailed drafting and design of civil engineering projects.

• Assists in the conduct and/or design and drafting of larger and more complex assignments which involve many disciplines, investigations, surveys, Civil, services and geotechnical issues. ( i.e. project management)

• Liaises with clients, statutory authorities and other consultants where appropriate .

• Works with other staff in the team to co-ordinate related activities.

• Contributes innovative ideas to the benefit of the drafting team.

• Demonstrates a desire to improve quality and efficiency of the services.

• Completes work within negotiated standards of time, cost and quality.

• Works within Australian Standards, KBR drawing office procedures and established industry practices.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Diploma of Structural Engineering (preferred, but not essential)

• Minimum 5 years previous relevant technical drafting and design experience required
