Lead Mechanical Engineer

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and selection of specialty rotating equipment such as process gas compressors, gas turbines, sea water injection pumps, etc., for the Abadi project through the various engineering work phases (i.e., feasibility studies, conceptual design, FEED studies, and detailed engineering for offshore, FPSO, and LNG projects) selection will be based on latest API Codes and Client Specifications. The expectation will be to perform in a Lead Engineer role for the rotating equipment/static packages on this LNG project.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for specialty rotating equipment and packages, such as gas turbine generators, centrifugal compressors, screw compressor packages, sea water injection pumps, reciprocating compressors, etc.
• Select the Pressure Vessels, columns, heat exchangers in compliance with international ASME codes/HTRI and client specification requirements
• Requisition specialty rotating equipment and static packages
• Coordinate work with inter-disciplinary teams, clients, and suppliers
• Technical evaluation of bids; prepare technical bid tabulation reports by interacting with suppliers, clients, and inter-disciplines
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and model review studies for packages; coordinate and close out mechanical-related issues
• Perform vendor document and design reviews for specialty rotating equipment and static packages
• Supervise team of Rotating and Static Engineers
• Attend Critical Weekly Meetings with Client and PMT for the Project
• Responsible for MDR Preparation and Delivery of Mechanical deliverables as per Project Schedules

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 10 + years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience with average experience of 15 + years
• Proven ability working on EPC projects with reputed international clients, with a minimum of 2 LNG projects worked as Lead Engineer
• Knowledgeable with international industry codes such as ASME, API, etc.
• Strong coordination, oral, and written communication skills
