Job Purpose:

A Software Developer I will work in a team environment by providing expert-level support and perform any combination of technical and functional analysis, design, research, programming, testing, deployment, maintenance, periodic enhancement, general computing applications, network operations, development and documenting software's developed. Coordinate and document operational specifications and formulate software requirements. Also, perform various other duties and participate with special projects as needed. This is a team-oriented position with a drive towards creativity and excelling in workmanship of developed product.

Responsibilities

• Power BI Dashboard Development and support, Maintain and enhance underlying SQL databases.
• Plan, Analyze and Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Research, Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to measure outcome and design consequences.
• Develop specifications, evaluate performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
• Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan installation of new system or modification or an existing system.
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Supports and develops software developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
• Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
• Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
• Direct and develop software system testing and procedure validation.
• Ability to monitor and ensure system operation and specifications conformance.
• Consult with and advise management and departments regarding project status, proposals and technical issues for software maintenance and design.
• Perform various other duties, projects and activities as assigned by supervisor or manager within the physical constraints of the job

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• B.Tech/B.E/MSc in Computer Science, or related IT field required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Power BI development.

1. Power BI Development
   • Expert in building interactive dashboards, reports, and paginated reports
   • Strong in data modeling (star/snowflake schema) and DAX expressions
   • Proficient with Power Query (M language) for data transformations
   • Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace management
   • PL - 300 Certification - Power BI Data Analyst Associate
2. Data Integration & ETL
   • Experience connecting Power BI with SQL Server, SharePoint, Excel, APIs, and Azure Data sources
   • Understanding of data refresh strategies, gateways, and scheduling
   • Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory) for upstream data preparation
3. Database Skills
   • Strong SQL querying and optimization skills
   • Understanding of database design, indexing, and relationships
   • Knowledge of stored procedures, views, and performance tuning
4. Advanced Analytics & Visualization
   • Ability to apply DAX measures, KPIs, calculated tables, and time intelligence functions
   • Experience designing executive-level dashboards and KPI scorecards
   • Knowledge of custom visuals and Power BI themes / branding
5. Power Platform Ecosystem
   • Integration experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, or Teams
   • Understanding of Power BI Service administration (workspace roles, deployment pipelines)
6. Azure / Cloud Exposure
   • Working knowledge of Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Lake, or Databricks
   • Understanding of security and governance in Azure environments
7. Version Control & Deployment
   • Familiarity with Git / DevOps pipelines for Power BI deployment
   • Experience in workspace promotion workflows (Dev → UAT → Prod)
8. Performance Optimization
   • Expertise in report performance tuning, data model compression, and query folding
   • Ability to troubleshoot slow reports or inefficient DAX measures

3. Documentation & Governance: Skilled in preparing technical specs, data dictionaries, and maintaining version control
