This Position reports to:
Hoisting Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work on mine hoist systems with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and first-time-right delivery. You will plan and perform service activities both on-site and remotely, ensuring ABB standards, processes, and quality requirements are met. Each day, you'll work closely with customers to provide technical expertise, minimize downtime, and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver field service activities, including inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of mine hoist systems.
• Support customers on-site by diagnosing issues, proposing solutions, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and reviewing material and parts requirements to ensure timely and high-quality execution of service tasks.
• Identify improvement opportunities for customer operations, enhancing safety, performance, and lifecycle value of hoisting equipment.

Qualifications for the Role

• Hold an electrical trade qualification or degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience), valid in Australia.
• Bring experience in field service, commissioning, or maintenance within the mining, heavy industry, or industrial automation sectors.
• Demonstrate proven expertise in troubleshooting electrical and control systems, ideally with mine winders, high-voltage equipment, or drive systems.
• Apply strong knowledge of safety standards, risk management, and quality procedures in high-risk environments.
• Knowledge or training in functional safety or machine safety is highly regarded.
• Use diagnostic tools, technical documentation, and relevant software platforms (e.g., ABB PLCs, drives, 800xA).
• Communicate clearly and confidently with customers, providing strong recommendations and building trust on-site.
• Travel to remote mine sites across Australia, holding a current driver's license (valid in Australia).
