What's the role

Shell is seeking a Procurement Manager Network - EV (also known internally as SC Commercial Lead Mobility Canada) to join their team at the Bow Building Calgary office.

This role will be a vital part of the Americas Procurement Retail team, which is passionate about delivering value, driving innovation, and exploring new frontiers to help shape the future of energy and retail. It is a collaborative position that works closely with both local and global partners in Procurement and Convenience Retail to support Shell's Powering Progress Together strategy. Together, we aim to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities by providing sustainable energy solutions, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to a cleaner, more resilient future

The Procurement Manager Mobility Network & EV Canada plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Shell's Retail Business. This role manages the end-to-end supply chain for equipment installed across forecourts and convenience stores-from collaborating with suppliers on product roadmaps to designing distribution networks and ensuring long-term maintenance. The position requires a strategic approach to contracting, balancing global initiatives with local market needs, while delivering sourcing strategies, category plans, and procurement excellence.

This position advises 10-12 direct business stakeholders responsible for network coverage in Canada and interfaces with global procurement, Legal, HSSE, other business functions and contracting colleagues in the USA and Mexico. The role currently has no direct reports.

In addition, this role currently offers a hybrid schedule with the ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week, and the other days out of the Calgary Bow Building office.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to anticipate procurement needs and deliver value-driven solutions, constructively challenging specifications and demand to maximize value
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans and multi-year procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with Global Category Strategies and Shell's business objectives
  • Lead tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and manage contracts to achieve strong commercial results while following Shell's policies and processes
  • Manage pre- and post-award contracts by collaborating with Shell teams and suppliers, implementing Contract Management Plans, conducting reviews, and tracking KPIs to drive cost savings, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Build strong supplier relationships and networks across Shell businesses and markets to drive mutual value, business resilience, and stay ahead of market trends and opportunities
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, addressing gaps in contract coverage to prevent value loss and improve profitability, while working closely with external partners and vendors to ensure successful execution of contracting strategies
  • Leverage Shell's digital tools, such as ARIBA, internal data platforms, and AI, to enhance procurement efficiency, transparency, and decision-making
  • Drive supply chain improvements by implementing best practices to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and create measurable value for Shell
  • Ensure alignment with Shell's Goal Zero initiatives by embedding safety, sustainability, and worker welfare into procurement strategies and supplier engagements

What you bring

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, commerce, economics, supply chain management or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of recent procurement experience, with knowledge of retail and/or network construction and maintenance in Canada
  • Experience with retail store equipment and EV maintenance categories is an asset
  • Strong background in procurement strategy, sourcing, and value delivery
  • Skilled in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts to meet Shell's standards and deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier performance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with multiple departments
  • Proven ability to identify and manage supply chain risks and drive efficiency improvements
  • Experience with digital procurement tools such as ARIBA, Agriloft and data analytics is an asset
