We are seeking a Director of Engineering for Instrument Connectivity to join our team in Shakopee, MN. In this position you will be part of a global cross functional team, working in a fast-paced environment and exposed to cutting edge technology.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Drive the development of new Connectivity Technologies used across Emerson field devices. These technologies include Bluetooth, Ethernet-APL and low-power cellular
  • Lead complex programs with globally distributed teams
  • Manage a group of software engineers, electrical engineers and project managers
  • Ensure Connectivity Technologies meet rigorous cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443 and the EU's Cybersecurity Resiliency Act
  • Provide outstanding support to Emerson product groups that integrate Connectivity Technologies
  • Collaborate with other Emerson business units to deliver the host applications needed for customers to easily and securely use the Connectivity Technologies
  • BS degree in engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited school
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills, technical understanding, and the capability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
  • Global and matrix leadership
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
  • Willingness to occasionally meet with global team members on off hours
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position now and in the future.
  • Master's degree in engineering, MBA, or other advanced degree
  • Engineering leadership experience
  • Cybersecurity knowledge
  • Familiarity with industrial automation or process instrumentation
  • Prior experience leading technology programs within a large global organization

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $170,000-$230,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
