Campus Watch Safety Officer

Part-Time, Permanent, 3 posts available
(Average 25.5 hours per week working a shift pattern basis. 4 shifts on 4 shifts off)
This will be predominantly nights but there will be some day shifts, as and when required.
The timings for night shifts are a combination of 9.30pm - 7am and 10pm - 4am, varying on alternate days over 4 nights.
Applications are invited for the post of Campus Watch Safety Officer within the Security Team, Estates Department.
Duties within the role will include maintaining the provision of a safe environment for our residential students and visitors to the College. Respond to incidents and welfare concerns; work closely with other departments to provide pastoral care support to our students, and to protect the Colleges property and assets.
It is desirable that applicants have a good appreciation of student issues within the Higher Education sector. You must have excellent customer service skills. Candidates should also possess a clean driving licence, as team members are required to drive college vehicles when necessary. Knowledge of fire safety and first aid is desirable but full training will be provided as will a work uniform.
The Campus Watch Safety Officer shift pattern covers the core hours of 9.30pm - 7am (365 days a year). As mentioned, the shifts will be predominantly nights but there will be some day shifts based on demand required for various events throughout the year.
The working week will total 25.5 hours. You may also be required to support the security team in providing assistance during holidays, training, absenteeism and College events.
You will undergo training on appointment. Please note the training may take place during the daytime. This role will be subject to a DBS check.
