Wood is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Hotworks Planner to join the Wood team at the Ampol Refinery based in Lytton, Brisbane. This role offers you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contribution to the team.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Hotworks Planner with strong understanding or background in hotwork processing and maintenance.
You will support the Lead Planner with the ongoing development and implementation of various planning and quality processes, whilst assuming responsibility for scoping, estimating, planning & scheduling all mechanical piping work in a designated process area of the Ampol Oil Refinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor CMMS (SAP) daily to review notifications and ensure timely creation of accurate work orders
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections to develop clear, detailed scopes of work for maintenance and project activities
- Prepare workpacks, outlining required tasks, materials, vendor details, Work Instructions, and supporting documentation
- Ensure work orders are ready for execution, including reserving materials, assigning resources, and attaching relevant documentation and services
- Manage stocked materials and procurement activities—identify part numbers, reserve stock, and coordinate sourcing of non-stock items
- Actively contribute to weekly planning and scheduling meetings, with the capability to lead/chair sessions when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant Trade Qualification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong CMMS knowledge and demonstrated experience (SAP)
- Demonstrated experience within a similar industry or related industry workplace
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
