This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees and support them in achieving the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will coach and develop the team. You will also showcase your expertise by helping in managing technologies, platforms, and Intellectual Property.

This role is contributing to the {EL-ELSE-SEGPM: Global Portfolio Management} in {Xiamen China} . Main stakeholders are {ELSE} .

Qualifications for the role
Education
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Work experience
Minimum 5 years' experience as an analytics developer
Professional Skills
• Analytics development skills required
• Proven experience leading cross-team analytics projects.
• Expertise in analytics for MV Switchgears and Circuit Breaker health analysis.
• Team management experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in data science programming languages (Python, R, Matlab) and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Numpy); experience with Jupyter notebook.
• Strong Database knowledge
• Experience with developing ML models
• Familiar with machine learning pipelines; able to keep good record of development processes; able to iteratively update models in an efficient manner
• Solid English skill, able to communicate smoothly with global teams.
• Knowledge of Agile development and Scrum methodologies.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Serving as a technical resource for the team and providing technical support for internal and external contacts.
- Planning and ensuring an appropriate project portfolio for the team.
- Contributing to technical bodies relevant to ABB R&D, inside and outside the company.
- Developing and acquiring competencies that will be needed for the development of future products and systems.
- Lead the Analytics Software and Data Infrastructure Team, providing technical direction and mentorship.
- Coordinate analytics initiatives across multiple product groups, ensuring delivery of high-quality analytics libraries and products.
- Facilitate integration between analytics and scrum teams within ELSE, promoting smooth collaboration and analytics integration.
- Work closely with global product managers to support teams to gather accurate Analytics related requirements.
- Collaborate with global AI teams to build solid AI solution within ELSE
- Define, implement, and optimize processes for analytics projects, including Asset Performance Libraries (APL) development and related software implementation.
- Monitor and ensure the quality and status of analytics products, driving continuous improvement.
- Contribute on analytics software implementations
- Lead the team to actively scout & research, leveraging new technologies such as AI and large language models (LLMs).
- Support team on qualified product deliveries and assist team to resolve blockers
