As such, the Financial Controls & Governance team is growing and transforming, and we are looking for highly qualified and talented people to accompany us as the organization grows, and the Senior Analyst, Financial Controls and Governance will play an important role in this.

They will work in an interesting environment in a multinational public company based in Montreal, Quebec working with colleagues at all levels from all geographic regions in the organization.

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Controls and Governance, the Senior Analyst will support the financial policies and processes, collaborate with various business units and corporate functions and participate in finance function improvement projects.

This role allows you to work in a dynamic environment with non-routine and evolving tasks. This role supports continuous improvement projects and the implementation of new applications and processes. In this role, the individual will play a key part in providing training and support to the business and reviewing policies and procedures to optimize the control environment in Finance.

Your role

  • Participate in finance function improvement projects to understand the implications on internal controls and recommend changes based on identified risks;
  • Assist business units and corporate functions in documenting their financial processes and controls.
  • Collaborate with IT and different functions in the implementation of new processes and applications and ensure financial controls are implemented and processes are aligned.
  • Assist management in resolving deficiencies and improving the control environment.
  • Support the team in the sub-certification process for quarterly financial statements.
  • Act as an internal expert on financial policies, processes, risks and controls.
  • Provide training to business units and corporate functions on financial policies, processes, risks and controls.


About you

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with people at all hierarchical levels.
  • Team spirit, autonomy, attention to detail, thoroughness and a sense of responsibility.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, results oriented and ability to manage potentially difficult situations and tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of NI 52-109 or SOX requirements in large corporations;
  • Knowledge of the workings of a large company acquired through experience in consulting or industry is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable with PowerPoint presentations; and
  • Knowledge of Oracle suite is an asset.
