Job Description:
Purpose of the Role:
The Procurement Specialist reports to the PU Procurement Senior Manager - AsPac and supports the development and execution of global, regional and local sourcing strategies for direct materials (including base oils, additives, packaging) for the lubricants business. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day commercial & operational activities with suppliers & internal partners across the AsPac region, working collaboratively to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement across direct material categories.
The Procurement Specialist work closely with suppliers to deliver cost efficiencies, service excellence, quality, innovation, and other valuable benefits for the Performance Unit (PU). The role also focuses on building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal business partners and supporting cross‑functional projects and transformation initiatives.

The role also focuses on building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal business partners and supporting cross‑functional projects and transformation initiatives.
Key accountabilities:
- Deliver procurement and sourcing activities across the AsPac region in compliance with corporate policies and processes, governance frameworks, supply agreements, and delegated authorities, ensuring quality, continuity of supply and minimal business risk.
- Deliver procurement and sourcing projects to achieve sustainable cost savings through rigorous cost analysis, driven benchmarking, and identification of cost‑reduction and value‑creation opportunities.
- Partner closely with global and regional direct category teams to manage and strengthen supplier relationships across direct raw materials (including additives, RRBO and base oils), driving improved ways of working and unlock valuable opportunities.
- Collaborate with direct category, technology and supply chain teams to create supply optionality, flexibility and optimization opportunities across direct raw material portfolios.
- Support and collaborate with regional direct category teams to develop and maintain market intelligence on direct raw material availability, pricing and supply risks, providing short‑ and long‑term market insights to support Lubricants business management processes.
- Develop and manage volume allocation plans aligned with formulation requirements, supply availability and driven pricing across approved supply sources.
- Ensure security and resilience of direct raw material supply by proactively identifying risks and developing robust mitigation and contingency plans.
- Support the seamless transition, setup and operationalization of new sourcing arrangements and direct raw material initiatives, including PU Hub led projects where applicable.
- Collaborate with direct Category & Procurement, Supply Chain and Planning teams to ensure accurate pricing communication, effective execution, timely COGS reporting and informed business decisions.
- Identify and negotiate commercial opportunities in collaboration with category and procurement teams to optimize cost structures and contractual outcomes.
- Represent the local market and regional network on direct raw material sourcing, allocation, and supply matters as required.
- Participate in business and supply chain reviews, supporting procurement execution arising from Management of Change initiatives across Marketing, Technology, and Sales.
Job Qualifications:
- Shown experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field, specifically within direct material categories e.g. base oils, additives or a similar chemical/petrochemical sector.
- Strong analytical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong experience in business requirements analysis.
- Expertise in spend profiling and strategy development.
- High level of Digital Fluency, comfortable with various procurement and analytical software.
- Solid understanding of procurement process, product and market intelligence within the categories.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
