As a skilled Coastal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership within the discipline and deliver high-profile coastal engineering projects, focusing on flood and erosion risk management, coastal resilience, and infrastructure development. The role involves technical leadership, project management, and client engagement to ensure sustainable and innovative solutions for coastal environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate high level of understanding the principles and practices of coastal engineering, coastal hydrodynamics, wave theory, and sediment transport mechanics.
- Exhibit proficiency in performing advanced engineering calculations for the design and analysis of projects in coastal settings, including major coastal storm risk management initiatives such as levees and floodwalls.
- Lead feasibility studies, concept development, and detailed design packages with relevant code knowledge and experience.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while consistently maintaining high standards of quality, innovation, and compliance with client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, environmental, structural, and planning specialists).
- Support business development through bid preparation, client engagement, and thought leadership.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to resource planning and team development.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's in civil / Coastal Engineering or Marine Structures related discipline from recognized university (Chartered Engineer status preferred) .
- Adapts plans and actions in response to change and remains flexible under reasonable circumstances .
- Coastal engineering in support of coastal flood studies under a predefined framework, specifically wave runup/overtopping analysis.
- Strong knowledge of UK coastal policies, flood risk management frameworks, and environmental legislation.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports, and collaborate effectively within diverse team environments involving staff, clients, and stakeholders .
