Activities
1. Deployment of product safety rules
* Deploy Product Safety rules at the level of each subsidiary, including business rules, in the product development and marketing processes.
* Ensure regulatory compliance and perform audits and internal controls in his/her area of responsibility and steer the implementation of recommendation s following audits/control s.
2. Local Product Steward Network
* Interface with PSL of countries within area of responsibility
* Develop and deliver training courses adapted to the PSL network
3. Regulatory expertise and impact analysis
* Develop knowledge in regional regulations (local GHS, REACh-like, etc.) by participating where available in conferences, technical committees, congresses, professional associations, etc.
* Perform active regulatory monitoring, identify threats and regulatory issues on products and on critical substances for businesses and communicate with the relevant teams (RAR/SP, BU PS, LPS, SDSCC).
4. Management of Safety Data Sheets Finished products and raw materials
* Coordinate requests for the creation/updat e of SDSs in his/her geographical area of r esponsibility, including UMDS, and measure progress through KPIs for all BUs.
* Ensure raw material (RM) SDSs are collected/comp l iant/created/u pdated and chemical substances are created/update d as necessary within MS Safety Product tools. Verify data quality prior to submission of applications to the SDSCC and validate SDSs.
* Provide guidance to PSL in requirements for GHS label creation
5. Operational support for regulatory compliance
* Provide support to Affiliates and Business Lines in regulatory procedures (declarations, notifications, registrations) and for responses to authorities/cu stomers within assigned countries of r esponsibility.
* Ensure mandatory annual reporting of imported products and chemical constituents in specific countries (assigned) with support of local PS
* Contribute to Product Safety activities in collaboration with the RAR/SP team and/or RPSR from other regions and/or BU PSs. The role may also involve contributing to cross-regional or corporate-leve l regulatory and conformity projects,
* Implement regulatory deployment programs in affiliates within your scope of responsibility in collaboration with the subsidiaries concerned, the BUs and RAR/SP
Candidate Profile
What is the required qualification level for the position? Diploma/Degree in Chemistry/Chem ical Engineering or equivalent - Ideally, some experience with SDS authoring, GHS compliance, REACh regulations
What are the technical skills required? Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point), Teams. Experience in data mining, data processing and VBA programming skills is highly desired
Does this position require a specific certification? If so, which one? Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and report significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
What are the soft skills required? Communication, team player, analytical, maturity, comfortable working with ambiguity
Which specific knowledges are required for the position? Experience working in the chemical industry. Ideally, experience in the implementation of chemical regulations or hazardous goods transport regulations or REACh (and equivalents) or the classification of products in the different GHS.
What is the required level of experience for the position? 5 - 8 years' experience in a technical role
