Overview

We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join either our CostaMesa, or Los Angeles CA office. The role can be a hybrid role (combination of working a few days a week from home and the remainder, from office). This position reports to the Water Resources Technical Manager in Henderson, NV. The Senior Water Resources Engineer, under direction, provides professional expertise in water quality studies, modeling, and engineering design.

Your role

• Lead and mentor junior engineers in the development of water quality studies and water quality models and design concepts.
• Plan and review the production of engineering investigations, planning work, master plans, drawings and specifications.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
• Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions.
• Analyze project dimension and scope, and prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
• Coordinate work with project managers, guides others on modeling, studies, and drafting and design of preliminary and final plans.
• Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others.
• Manage projects.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

About you

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering. This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years' experience since B.S.; six years' experience since M.S.
• P.E. license is required.
• Understanding and competency of water quality modeling.
• Understanding of water quality studies, TMDL's, hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in California.
• May be eligible to receive project management training.
• QSD or QSP are highly recommended.
• Good technical writing, computer and verbal communications skills.
