Your Role and Responsibilities

We are now looking for a new Procurement Specialist to join our team in Vaasa Finland. In this role, you will contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of purchasing and logistics activities within the Procurement function, directly supporting ABB Energy Industries' business in Finland. You will execute assigned activities according to ABB standard procedures and play a key role in supplier management, strategic sourcing, and sustainability initiatives. You will also deliver and participate in training programs to ensure compliance and foster professional development.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, including qualification of new suppliers and resolving performance issues.
• Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
• Designing and implementing effective local sourcing strategies aligned with business needs and sustainability goals.
• Acting as the first point of contact for the Service organization in procurement matters, supporting and driving continuous improvement initiatives and supplier process development.
• Leading and supporting sustainability initiatives, including Supplier Scope 3 emissions programs and compliance with HSE, legal standards, and trade compliance requirements.

Qualifications for the role

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• Highly skilled in procurement tools and methodologies (e.g., SAP, RfQ systems, ERP, Salesforce) with a history of optimizing processes and integrating solutions for efficiency gains with a solid grasp of the industrial / energy sector market
• Solid (> 3-5 years) of experience in procurement & logistics, supplier management, or a related field, ideally with exposure to service and spare parts sourcing
• Demonstrated experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), risk mitigation, and business process and tool improvement
• Fluency in English and Finnish (both written and spoken)
• Good understanding of logistics and trade compliance and their application in procurement and logistics and the whole delivery process
• Solid knowledge of procurement standards, processes and tools and sustainability practices, including Scope 3 emissions and HSE compliance
• Passionate about collaboration, continuous improvement, and driving innovation in procurement and supply chain processes
