PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform surface preparation activities, which include masking and sanding of product prior to painting or sandblasting.
- Perform spray painting functions related preparatory undercoating, preservatives and lubricants.
- Clean and maintain paint shop equipment such as air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns and respirators.
- Ensure coatings are clad according to NOV or customer requirements.
- Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
- Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
- Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations.
- Under general supervision, spray paint small, component parts prior to assembly and final coating.
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- As stated above within the Primary Responsibilities section.
- A Basic understanding of heavy equipment paint processes.
- Assists with the cleanliness of the paint area.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment.
- Ability to learn on the job and apply.
- Able to lift 45 pounds.
- Performs other work-related tasks as assigned by the Paint/Production Manager/Supervisor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2-years of painting heavy equipment experience.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40-Hours
- Exposed to loud noise while in the warehouse.
- Must be flexible to work overtime when needed.
- Exposed to moving parts while on the shop floor.
- Limited (5%) travel required outside of the FM 529 facility.
- Exposed to occasional hot and/or cold weather depending on outside climate conditions and warehouse temperature since the shop floor is neither airconditioned nor heated.
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
- Adheres to attendance policies.
- Follows all HSE rules/regulations.
- Must read and understand all JHA's.
- Wears proper PPE while in the warehouse.
- Adheres to facilities safety policies and attends all monthly safety training.
- Attends all human Resource directed training via classroom, iComply, or HUB Learning CBT.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- May operate both JIB and Overhead cranes.
- May operate Class IV Forklifts (Hyster 50-170).
- Wears a Fall Protection Harness when performing work at heights.
