Summary

The Environmental Coordinator will provide environmental compliance support for truck stop and convenience store operations. Understand and trouble shoot underground storage tank (UST) operations, wastewater treatment plant operations and stormwater issues. Provide training to site personnel. Lead project budgets and consultants performing remediation or environmental sampling and reporting. Collaborate with state and federal regulators. Understand and implement projects to remain in regulatory compliance and anticipate regulatory changes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise with UST operation, NPDES, and air compliance for facilities.
  • Manage consultants performing remediation or other environmental services.
  • Prepare budgets for site and project environmental compliance.
  • Manage some construction projects.
  • Report progress of projects to management and ensure budgets and deadlines are met.
  • Manage insurance reimbursement from state and private insurance for remediation projects.
  • Prepare and review reports, applications, compliance documents to be submitted to regulatory agencies and provide interface with the regulatory agency.
  • Provide and participate in site personnel training and expertise in environmental issues affecting truck stop and convenience store operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or environmental management
  • Understanding and knowledge of UST, NPDES, Air regulations affecting UST operations.
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide leadership and work closely with colleagues of varying educational backgrounds.
  • Strong computer skills - MS Office Suite, internet research
