Job Summary:

The role involves designing and developing ASICs suited for high temperature environments, ensuring their performance, reliability, and integration into downhole tools.

Typical Responsibilities and Duties:

High temperature mixed signal ASIC design:
  • Definition of optimized analog and digital topologies (noise, power consumption, temperature).
  • Simulation and optimization according to foundry process variations.
  • Contribution to design rules for thermal reliability.
  • Digital prototyping on FPGA.
  • Design of test vehicles and qualification benches (hardware + software).

ASIC Development:
  • Writing technical specifications and selecting the semiconductor process.
  • Modeling and simulating electronic architectures integrating the ASIC.
  • Feasibility studies and development with validated external partners.

Support for industrialization:
  • Collaboration with architects and project managers to define the ASIC and tool architecture.
  • Proposal of advanced signal processing concepts and innovative topologies.

Cross-functional and technology watch:
  • Support design teams.
  • Technology watch and validation of new solutions.
  • Organization of design reviews.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Participation in project planning definition.

Required Skills:
  • Engineering degree in electronics (Master's level or equivalent)
  • 10 years+ of experience in ASIC development and/or embedded electronics.
  • Strong experience in mixed-signal (analog-digital) design or analog interface design.
  • Experience in digital ASIC design and RTL development (Verilog/VHDL).
  • Proficiency with EDA tools (Cadence) for simulation, synthesis, and verification.
  • Good understanding of digital logic circuits, timing, and lowpower design techniques.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Tcl...) is appreciated.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet...) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in electronics and development of test and validation systems.
  • Experience in semiconductor process design for ASICs.
  • Analytical mindset, rigor, and methodical approach.
  • Creative and innovative.
