  • Develop and lead the execution of comprehensive EHS strategies aligned with Appleton Group's business objectives and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate safety culture and performance across all sites, ensuring alignment with Emerson's corporate standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report safety KPIs, trends, and performance metrics to executive leadership, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, proactively addressing risks and regulatory changes.
  • Oversee environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, air and water quality monitoring, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, near-misses, and property damage; identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, leading responses to audits, inspections, and compliance inquiries.
  • Support capital projects by integrating safety planning and risk mitigation strategies throughout project lifecycles.
  • Champion employee safety training programs and behavioral safety initiatives, fostering engagement and accountability.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required safety and health training, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all locations.
  • Build strong partnerships with operations leaders and employees to promote a culture of safety, ownership, and discipline.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment at a senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead change, influence culture, and drive EHS performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Planning and prioritization - manage multiple projects and activities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 50% each year
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
