Wood is presently recruiting a Senior Corrosion and Materials Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. The Senior Corrosion and Materials Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting multiple projects for primarily O&G facilities.

This is an opportunity to take an active role in design and operational stage brownfield and greenfield O&G production, refining, LNG and petrochemical facilities to provide corrosion and materials expertise. The Senior Corrosion and Materials Engineer will be supporting a multidisciplinary team across the business nationally and globally.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform, lead and support corrosion assessments and corrosion modelling;
  • Provide materials, metallurgical and corrosion related expertise and recommendations.
  • Produce material selection designs/reports.
  • Produce engineering calculations based on engineering concepts and API/ASME standards;
  • Lead the Implementation of RBI commercial software;
  • Write technical reports based on assessments, calculations, and inspections;
  • Lead failure analysis investigations and liaise with labs/vendors
  • Liaise with specialized engineering disciplines for resolution of integrity related concerns;
  • Involvement with industry associations and academic institutions;
  • Participate in studies regarding Risk Based Inspection and fitness assessment of pressurized equipment;
  • Interface with clients, personnel, and subcontractors
  • Perform QA/QC checks and review material and corrosion related work.
  • Travel when required to client locations;
  • Compliance with the company's Quality and HSE policies;
  • Achieve company goals / personal KPI's.

Expected:
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (or greater); Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Petroleum or related specialty desired;
  • 10+ years of experience as corrosion/materials engineer in oil and gas required.
  • Proficiency with corrosion modeling programs preferred.
  • Proficiency with integrity management databases preferred.
  • Strong report writing experience preferred.
  • Willingness to develop a wide range of skills and flexibility to work on a variety of projects.
  • Able/willing to travel for short periods of time (up to 1 week)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
