In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and concept design to hardware/software engineering, simulation, testing, and commissioning.

Project Engineering:
  • Analyze project inputs from customer meetings, site surveys, and technical documentation
  • Lead engineering for DCS/SCADA-based ECMS and FLNG projects (greenfield and retrofit)
  • Design and implement Hybrid/Microgrid control systems with advanced load management
  • Develop network architecture diagrams, control logic, protection schemes, and procurement specs for ECMS & Hybrid EMS
  • Engineer software logic for:
    • Load Shedding schemes (priority-based, frequency-based, adaptive)
    • MW and MVAr load sharing across generators and grid tie-ins
    • Synchronization, islanding, and black start strategies
  • Integrate electrical distribution systems including LV/MV/HV switchgear, substations, GIS, and switchyards
  • Guide implementation of control logic from SAMA diagrams and functional descriptions
  • Build and test control macros, faceplate templates, and simulation logic
  • Configure third-party protocols (Modbus, OPC, IEC 61850, DNP3) and communication interfaces
  • Lead internal point database creation, IO list extraction, and hardware/software integration
  • Draft and review system architecture, GA drawings, and network topologies
  • Conduct process simulation and first-pass testing of ECS functions
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, NEC, and regional grid codes
  • Maintain ISO-compliant Quality & HSE documentation and procedures
  • Coordinate with system integrators to ensure timely, budget-aligned, and high-quality delivery
  • Support utilization tracking and management reporting (MORs)


Field Services:
  • Preparing site execution plans with help of project manager
  • Leading the site team for Ovation system power up, redundancy and I/O testing
  • Maintaining protocols for loop check, device check and panel charging
  • Leading the site team for Analog and Binary Device testing and fault finding
  • Engaging with customer and vendors on technical aspects of site commissioning and report the progress and flags the roadblocks and challenges to site manager or project manager
  • Fault diagnosis of Ovation system, network system, and various communication interfaces like OPC, Modbus, DNP3, serial, IEC 61850, etc
  • Loop and device checking and necessary modifications in the logics, graphics, and database as per customer /site requirements
  • Working closely with engineering team for troubleshooting of HW/SW (e.g. controllers, modules, link modules etc.)
  • ECMS commissioning for commercial operation
  • Customer facing and preparation of site report
  • Coordination with vendors and front offices

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, control & Instrumentation, power engineering.
  • Ten (10) to Sixteen (16) years of experience in electrical industry or DCS vendor company, preferably in Captive power plant and Refinery with knowledge of DCS/PLC programming / Engineering / commissioning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Ability to write reports & business communication.
  • Ability to interface with vendors & sub-contractors.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC, OSHA).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Willingness to work in industrial environments and adhere to safety protocols.


Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, substations, GIS, and switchyard operations
  • Proven expertise in software design for ECS functions including load shedding and power sharing.
  • Expert level knowledge of electrical equipment like switchboards, generators, turbines, AVRs, motors, transformers, capacitors, CTs, VTs, feeders, meters, relays.
  • Solid understanding of programming languages, preferably C or C++.
  • Experience with IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC UA, and other control system protocols over TCP/IP or serial.
  • Experience with protective relays, substation and renewable energy automation systems
  • Experience with SEL RTAC and equivalent IED architecture design and configuration
