Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to direct our Product Evaluation organization, located in Marshalltown, Iowa. The Director, Product Evaluation is a key member of the Flow Controls Technology Leadership Team, providing strategic direction and operational leadership to the Test and Evaluation, Simulation, and Materials teams. These teams deliver critical engineering services that support New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Supply Chain initiatives across the Emerson Flow Controls organization.
In this role, you will develop technology roadmaps, ensure resource alignment for current and future needs, and oversee the budget and operations of our world-class flow testing and materials evaluation facilities. You will also manage the capital investment plan for these facilities. Additionally, you will coordinate the technical community across engineering business units, focusing on technical progression, training, and engineering development.
A critical aspect of this role is aligning organizational priorities across multiple teams and clearly communicating these priorities to ensure all stakeholders are focused on shared objectives. You will be responsible for translating strategic goals into actionable plans, fostering transparency, and ensuring that teams understand how their work contributes to the broader mission of Emerson Flow Controls.

In this Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide strategic leadership to the Flow Controls Test and Evaluation, Simulation, and Materials teams across global locations in Marshalltown, IA and Wuqing, China.
- Develop and execute technology roadmaps to support organizational growth and innovation.
- Ensure teams deliver prioritized, responsive support for critical New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Supply Chain development programs.
- Align and communicate organizational priorities, ensuring clarity and engagement across all levels of the organization.
- Utilize automation, process improvements, and strategic investments to develop capacity in Testing, Materials, and Simulation.
- Oversee the operations and budget of flow testing and materials evaluation facilities; manage capital investment plans.
- Coordinate technical community initiatives across engineering business units, emphasizing technical career planning, development, and recognition.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and internal customers to align priorities and deliver results.
- Create a culture of safety and operational excellence within all facilities and teams.

For this Role You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
- Clear, compelling, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams.
- Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in engineering, research, or operations.
- At least 5 years of management experience, including direct leadership of technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing capital projects and technical facilities.
- Track record of driving innovation and process improvement with demonstrated experience managing people leaders, including setting development plans and coaching leaders within your organization.
- Proven ability to build leadership capability and foster a culture of continuous development and recognition.
- Ability to travel up to 10% and work with international teams.
