JOB DESCRIPTION

The Aberdeen Fab Shop require a Chargehand and you will be responsible for the supervision of Tradesmen for the delivery of trades workscopes. This will be a 37 hour week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a flexible approach to overall team, performance and delivery. For example, coordinating vendor / subcontractor activities, TAR preparation, multi-tasking etc.

• Ensuring all work is carried out in strict compliance with the Permit to Work.

• Ensure the implementation of appropriate work procedures are strictly adhered to.

• Ensure all workscopes are completed in strict accordance with applicable workpack / jobcard instructions, drawings and sketches. • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments in order to complete workscopes in an safe and controlled manner.

• The allocation of Tradesmen to work fronts.

• Ensure workforce are working productively and efficiently and maximise their working time at the workfronts.

• Ensuring that the safe systems of work are effectively applied through instruction, supervision and good communications.

• Taking steps to encourage the workforce to carry out their duties effectively / efficiently.

• Conduct meaningful tookbox talks and encourage all team members to deliver the same on a rotational basis.

• Attending and having reasonable input to safety meetings.

• Attending and having reasonable input to work methodology meetings.

• Attending and having reasonable input to plan scheduling meetings.

• Monitor the attendance including sickness absence of Tradesmen allocated to them and report to Production Manager.

• Ensuring that everybody under their control is provided with such instruction, information and procedures as defined within the management system as means of control.

• Plan and prepare to execute requirements of inspection and test procedures.

• Investigating any accidents involving personnel under their control.

• Investigating all "near-miss" situations reported by personnel under their control.

• Provide proactive and visible HS&E leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Recognised Trade Apprenticeship.

• ONC or equivalent trade certification or relevant NVQ Level 3.

• Previous experience at Chargehand level (desirable).

• Must be able to read structural drawings.

• Previous experience working in an Engineering / Maintenance / Construction environment.

• Minimum 5 years experience working in the Oil & Gas industry (onshore or offshore).

• Knowledge and experience of site working practices including the ability to understand drawings.

• Understanding and working knowledge of safe working systems e.g. STOP, Risk Assessment etc - embellish current safe working systems**
