WTG PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - CONTRACT – SURREY

Our Client, a global leader in the engineering and construction of major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors, both offshore and onshore, is currently looking for a Wind Turbine Generator Principal Engineer to join the team in Surrey.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Chartered Engineer (Engineering Degree - Aeronautical degree preferred)
- Experience: 10-15 years in design for offshore wind covering both floating and fixed wind substructures
- Technical skills: codes and standards, including DNV and IEC, turbine design, WTG
- IT skills: engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365
JOB SCOPE
Purpose of the position: As Principal Engineer you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line. You will be responsible for all activities related to turbine design and interface with turbine OEM in offshore wind.
Responsibilities:
- Building and verification of aeroelastic model of the turbine
- Manage the turbine controller tuning and development
- Perform all required checks of the turbine and controller
- Support the turbine tower design
- Monitor, support, and verify the ILA
- Laise with external contractors related to the turbine model and controller
- Participate in the technical meetings with clients
- Provide a support to the Offshore Wind business unit activities, in terms of advanced and non-conventional structural analyses and numerical simulations
- Write comprehensive and top quality industry standard technical reports
RATE: Please quote what limited company hourly rate you would be looking for.
DURATION: Start ASAP.
WORK PATTERN: Hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days working at home.
