We are looking for a technically savvy Software Developer, who is passionate, open-minded, customer oriented and innovative to join our team at ABB Oy, Drives unit, located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. The right person also has passion for creating scalable, maintainable embedded systems.

Your role and responsibilities

You'll join a highly experienced team developing software for the ABB industrial drives. You'll contribute to feature development and deliver high-quality solutions for demanding applications worldwide. Your role also include:

• Analyze technical requirements and accordingly design and develop embedded software modules for the new and existing generation of Industrial drives.
• Execute assigned software design and development activities with focus on building efficient, maintainable, and scalable solution(s) in accordance with ABB's quality standards, processes, guidelines and architectural vision.
• Play an active role in the entire software development lifecycle - from requirements analysis, design, and coding to verification, test automation and maintenance.
• Keeping up to date with technologies, tools and methods, and implementing initiatives to improve the SW design and eradicate technical debts

Qualifications for the role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Software, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field is essential
• 3+ years of working experience in C++ programming together with knowledge in RTOS and Object-Oriented programming is relevant
• Hands-on experience with GIT, Python, Jenkins and build tools is essential
• Experience in embedded firmware development using Agile methodologies is essential
• Passion for developing maintainable and scalable embedded software is relevant
• Experience in Cyber Security is an advantage
• Knowledge in Digital/Power Electronics and Control Software is an advantage
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Finnish proficiency is an advantage
