We are looking for a technically experienced Senior Software Developer, who is passionate, open-minded, customer oriented and innovative to join our team at ABB Oy, Drives unit, located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. The right person has strong technical expertise and passion for creating scalable, maintainable embedded systems

Your role and responsibilities

You'll join a highly experienced team developing software for the ABB industrial drives. You'll contribute to the feature development and deliver high-quality solutions for demanding applications worldwide. In this role you can grow into making architecture design and decisions. Your role also include:

• Analyze technical requirements and accordingly design and develop embedded software modules for the new and existing generation of Industrial drives
• Execute assigned software design and development activities with focus on building efficient, maintainable, and scalable solutions in accordance with ABB's quality standards, processes, guidelines and architectural vision
• Play an active role in the entire software development lifecycle - from requirements analysis, design, and coding to verification, test automation and maintenance
• Keeping up to date with technologies, tools and methods, and implementing initiatives to improve the SW design and eradicate technical debt

Qualifications for the role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Software, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field
• Excellent C++ programming skills and proven knowledge in RTOS and Object-Oriented programming is a must
• Hands-on experience in developing maintainable and scalable software is essential
• Hands-on experience in working with GIT, Python, Jenkins and build tools is relevant
• Expertise in embedded firmware development using Agile methodologies is essential
• Experience in Cyber Security is an advantage
• Knowledge in Digital/Power Electronics, Control Software and Architecture development is an advantage
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Finnish proficiency is an advantage
