Job Description:
This is an Individual Contributor role that looks to support various bp businesses in Sourcing, contracting and supplier performance management activities based on Category Management Policy (CMP).
This role will chip in to an enhanced Service Delivery Model around how bp manage costs through third-party contract agreements, and ensure maximum value is achieved. This role is expected to deliver value using the provisions of the Category Management Policy (CMP), approved budgets and, where applicable, JV partner and NOC agreements.
To align with bp's Code of Conduct, as well as all HSSE requirements, including continual support of HSSE objectives within the business, and taking a professional and principled approach to working with suppliers, to ensure transparency, consistency and fairness. Our procurement and supply chain management principles are always applied within that framework and in the context of relevant laws and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
The Sourcing Lead will lead end-to-end Sourcing and Contracting projects as per business request, inclusive but not limited to the following activities:
Case management
Sourcing Strategy
Engage the Market
Contracting

You will work with
Regional Supply Chain Planning teams, S&OP managers and S&OE delivery leads across the regions, along with local Sales and Marketing teams and colleagues.

Key Accountabilities
The Sourcing Lead will lead end-to-end Sourcing and Contracting projects as per business request, inclusive but not limited to the following activities:
Case management
- Receive, implement and continuously lead multiple project requests via the Case Management tool.
- Drive and manage various sourcing and contracting projects of medium / high spend & complexity
Sourcing Strategy
- Contribute to the development of the respective category strategies from a sourcing team's side
- Develop Sourcing strategy, including options & scenarios in accordance with the respective Category strategy
Engage the Market
- Define approach to market and develop source selection criteria based on the business priorities and requirement
- Manage and coordinate the supplier selection process to ensure the most ideal option is chosen
- Manage all relevant stakeholder and supplier interactions incl. and relationship including senior levels throughout the sourcing project
- Define negotiation strategy, negotiate and agree on relevant contract terms with suppliers
Contracting
- Define contracting strategy, develop and modify contract content based on templates and manage the approval process
- Propose potential modifications/updates to the relevant contract templates based on category specific requirements
- Generate reports (status, summary etc.) and analyze data depending on the project requirements
- Drive and coordinate issue resolution in complex scenarios propose improvement initiatives that result in long term solution
Essential experience and job requirements
- Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience is required (preferably in business studies)
- 4 - 6 years of practical and application experience in end-to-end sourcing of services and commodities, drafting and negotiating contracts and legal terms, sourcing strategy preparation, coupled with a strong commercial orientation and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English (required)
- Fluency in Chinese is desirable but not mandatory (nice-to-have)
- Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- In-depth understanding of respective category/categories is an advantage
- Track record of successful Procurement delivery in complex, challenging international environments
- Proven experience with contract creation, negotiations and life-cycle management
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Excellent time-management and task prioritization skills
- Analytical abilities including marketplace and financial analysis
- Critical thinking and ability to propose sourcing strategies
- Global / international business experience
- Ability to work on shift hours
Desirable criteria
- Familiarity with Ariba / Salesforce systems for procurement processes.
