About the Role

The Project Manager - Aftermarket plays a critical role in the successful sales and delivery of aftermarket projects. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle - from scope definition, cost control, and documentation, to identifying variations in work scope and ensuring project delivery on time and within budget. Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the Project Manager ensures that all projects meet technical, commercial, and quality objectives.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Sales Support & Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction teams to deliver technically compliant and commercially viable solutions that exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Carry out scope of work related to sales and delivery of aftermarket products such as services, upgrades, conversion projects and spare parts related to supplied equipment during the life time of the equipment.
  • Facilitate execution of project scope, goals, and deliverables in accordance with contractual and company requirements.
  • Take ownership of the technical and commercial outcomes of projects, ensuring profitability and margin growth.
  • Prepare detailed project execution plans and work breakdown structures in collaboration with project teams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, cost forecasts, and reports to ensure alignment between budget, resources, and milestones.
  • Manage project progress reporting to both management and clients, including cost reports, variation control, risk assessment, and opportunity tracking.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection, quotation evaluation, and purchasing recommendations.
  • Conduct regular customer satisfaction surveys and implement improvements based on feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with IP protection and third-party design verification requirements.
  • Manage and coach the project team, fostering skill development and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure timely submission of invoices and control of project documentation.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans for aftermarket activities including upgrades, conversions, services, and spare parts supply.
  • Coordinate client feedback and technical needs with relevant departments and capital equipment sales managers.
  • Lead troubleshooting activities with equipment specialists and subcontractors as needed.
  • Act as the focal point for assigned clients, maintaining proactive engagement to identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing to lessons learned and quality assurance processes.


Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • Junior: minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Medior: minimum 10 years of relevant experience (5 in a similar role).
  • Senior: minimum 20 years of relevant experience (10 in a similar role).
  • Proven project management experience, preferably in aftermarket operations or offshore industry.
  • Strong project planning, cost control, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and client engagement.
  • In-depth understanding of the offshore industry, with general knowledge of mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).


Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
  • Experience in a multinational or matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and project management software.
