We are looking for an Offshore Installation Manager to join one of our FPSO projects in Angola:

Project: FPSO Kaombo South

Location: Angola

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 12 months

Scope of Work:

OIM co-ordinates the execution of all the floaters operations activities, ensuring Company economic and strategic results. Ensures the observance of HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
Has overall responsibility and accountability for the efficient operation of the FPSO.
Take command of the unit, according to International Conventions and Regulations, Flag, State requirements and local regulations, implementing safety and environmental policy of the Company. Act as Safety leader of the unit and ensure compliance with international and local laws as well as Flag State, Class requirements, International Conventions and Company policies. Act as fully conversant with ISM Code (and/or SOLAS). Act as fully conversant with MARPOL. Apply MLC2006 requirements. Whenever required, act as OIM as defined in IMO resolution A. 1079(28). As part of the VMT of the vessel, he shall ensure the best performance of the vessel and its crew to achieve the projects requirements.
Reference to the Corporate Job Code # 446001 (FPSO Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)) as described in the Job Code Mission: Take command on any seagoing vessel 3000gross tonnage or more or any non-DP Vessel in accordance with the International Conventions, Codes, Flag State Regulations, Classa Rules, local laws and regulation / company requirements.
Master / OIM must act as demonstrated in the Company / Vessel Safety Management System (SMS) and as specified in the various Regulatory Documents including and not limited to:
Act as Person Designated for Safety who has responsibility for implementation of and compliance with the occupational safety and health policy / programme
Act as the Ship Security Officer as defined in the ISPS Code. Apply all the Codes Requirements
Whenever required and trained to act as Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) as defined in IMO resolution A. 1079(28)
As part of the vessel management, ensure the best performance of the vessel and its crew to achieve the project requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The O.I.M. is responsible for the safety and integrity of the FPSO. For Integrity tasks, refer in particular to the document 789006 §6.2 Integrity Responsibility Matrix (ARCI).
Should a hazardous situation, incident, accident, emergency or evacuation, abandon ship situation arise, he will coordinate all activities and decide what action have to be taken to safeguard the people, environment and FPSO.
Is supported by the Cargo Spt. for all Marine and Safety aspects of the FPSO. They must work in conjunction for the Emergency Response activities in order to return the situation back to normal.

Cooperate for the periodical review and maintenance of the Safety Management System and other vessel documentation. He is the link between the Unit Organization and the Client Representative onboard.
Report to the Operations Manager daily on all relevant matters.
Manage the operation of the Unit and related activities with the support all Area Authorities on board.
Responsible for coordinating and guaranteeing the information flow between the Unit and Local Operations Office ashore.
Give support and information to the Local Operations Office ashore during management of contract and Client's activities.
Monitor the levels of competency of personnel, provide for trainings according the last updated Training Matrix.
Be aware of roles and responsibilities with regard to emergency response.
Monitor the annual assessments of personnel, he is supported by Training Department with provinding trainings according to the last updated Training Matrix.
Ensure that probationary assessments are carried out before the probationary period elapses.
Manage the day-to-day disciplinary and performance issues on board.
Cooperate with the Cargo Spt. for all the Marine/Cargo related issues.
Establishing effective relationship between the organization on board and the Client Representative.
Coordinate the training request from Area Authorities for personnel and the transmittal to the offices.
Assist Local Operations Office ashore or Third Parties during audits on board in co-operation with Area Authorities and S.O.
Monitor the implementation of remedial and corrective/preventive actions for internal and external auditors/inspections findings, NC, Observations.
Guarantee that all rules and regulations and procedures, with special regards to those referred to safety on job site, are implemented.
Ensure together with Training Department that all personnel on board is in possession of proper certification and qualification to work in the assigned position.
Participate and promote the safety meetings and safety drills onboard.
Familiarize himself with reporting routines regarding the AMOS based maintenance system on board.
Promptly report all accidents, incidents, near-miss and non-conformance through the proper channels.
Good knowledge of all relevant work and safety procedures issued by Saipem and the Client and promote the implementation of same.
In charge in Quality & HSE Procedures/Documents and Emergency Procedures reviews.
In charge in Master Review report and meetings.
Responsible for Risk Assessment, verification after preparation by Area Authorities.
Cooperate with HR Department for recruitment and interviews of all personnel.
Coordinating the crew change and logistic with Logistic and HR Departments.
Member of Implementation Group and member of VMT (Vessel Management Team).
Keep up certification applied to the function and medical certificates up to date.
Attend Company training as defined.
Perform all emergency duties assigned to their function, in response to the emergency, if applicable.
Ensure compliance with SAIPEM procedures, applied to the function, including Saipem Permit to Work System.

Need to be fully familiar and comply with Company Policies, Quality, HSE and all Procedures assigned to his title/position.
Anticipate and notice any unsafe condition and assure that the correction actions are taken according to procedure.
Responsible not only for the safety of themselves, but also for the safety of fellow employees.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • FPSO experience is a must
  • At least 5 years of professional offshore experience in gas and oil industry
  • OIM certificate
  • National CoC Reg. II/2
